We never compromise on ingredients. From lobster, scallop, shrimp and salmon to filet mignon and steak, we order only the premium choice and serve it in generous portions — grilled right before your eyes. Our ginger and yum-yum sauces, sesame dressing and miso soup are all made in-house.

The Hibachi Experience

Sit back and enjoy the show.

Hibachi — teppanyaki — means "grilled on an iron plate." Your chef cooks right in front of you on a grill set into the table: flaming fire, an erupting volcano of onion rings, juggled eggs and expert knife work. The fun is unlimited, and everything is as fresh as it gets — literally right off the grill.

Every hibachi entrée comes complete: clear chicken soup, crisp garden salad with our famous house dressing, an appetizer of shrimp or mushroom, grilled vegetables, grilled noodle and sizzling fried rice — all finished with our signature steak and seafood sauces.

Why Our Sushi

Freshness you can taste.

Sushi is a work of art — and the key to it is the freshness of the fish. At Sumo we insist on the highest quality. Sushi is never pre-made and stored for re-sale; every order is made fresh, exactly to your liking. Fish past its prime is discarded, never served.

Our deliveries arrive two to three times a week, and our menu spans an extensive list of fish, seafood and Chesapeake crab meat. That's why our sushi is priced reasonably and never offered all-you-can-eat — because we'd rather serve it perfect than serve it endless.

At Sumo we bring that authentic taste to the table with elegant presentation: bento boxes, stir-fried yakisoba, rich udon noodle soup and broiled-eel unagi don, prepared by our sushi chefs.

Do you take reservations?

Yes — especially for hibachi tables and groups. Call us at 571-229-9195 to reserve, or use our concierge to send a request and we'll confirm with you.

What's included with a hibachi dinner?

Every hibachi entrée comes with clear chicken soup, a garden salad with house dressing, an appetizer of shrimp or mushroom, grilled vegetables, grilled noodle and fried rice — plus our signature steak and seafood sauces.

Is your sushi fresh?

Always. Sushi is cut fresh to your order and never pre-made or stored for re-sale. We take vendor deliveries two to three times a week, and anything past its freshness date is discarded.

Can you host birthdays & private parties?

Absolutely — celebrations are our specialty. For birthdays and anniversaries we add a complimentary dessert and capture a photo of your moment. Call us to arrange a party, event or catering.

Do you offer takeout & delivery?

Yes — order through Grubhub or Uber Eats for delivery, or call 571-229-9195 for carry-out. Our sushi and Japanese cuisine travel beautifully.

Are you family-friendly?

Very. There's a children's hibachi menu for under-10s, and kids love watching the chef's grill show. Gift cards are also available in-restaurant.
